About Lovatt Antiques

Started in the late 1960’s by my father Ivor, Lovatt Antiques is a long-established antiques business based in Glasgow and dealing throughout Scotland.

For as long as I can remember and through my early years watching Arthur Negus on Going for a Song and the Antiques Roadshow (with the obligatory valuation competitions with family and friends) I have been interested in antiques.

I have been dealing in antiques and fine quality items since leaving school in the late 1970’s and I travel throughout Scotland in my quest to find good quality antique and reproduction items.

Antiques Purchased

I am interested in buying good quality Antique, Victorian and Mid-20th Century design items. I am always looking to buy interesting and unusual pieces.

It may be that you have a single item to value or estate contents to sell on behalf of a relative.

You might be thinking of changing an interior. Maybe you’re moving home or you want to use the space in an old cupboard or your loft.

An auction house valuation is not a guaranteed amount. Should your item sell the auctioneer will charge you, the seller from 15% to 25% vendor’s commission. (Plus vat) The auction house will also charge the successful buyer from 20% to 25% buyer’s premium plus vat.

Your item will lose up to 50% (plus vat) of its value in auction house and associated charges. This does not include any additional charges for advertising, cataloguing & photography, insurance or carriage.
